When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert adopt a young orphan to help around the farm, they expect a boy to arrive。 But nothing could prepare the siblings for young Anne Shirley at Green Gables! Free-spirited, passionate, and redheaded, Anne brings joy―and a bit of mischief―into the Cuthberts’ lives。

Follow along on Anne’s many escapades as she makes friends, helps on the farm, and struggles with her rambunctious nature, all while proving to Marilla and Matthew that she belongs at Green Gables!

With foil on the cover and fresh full-color art from Jamie Green, this adaptation of L。 M。 Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables promises to be an exciting first chapter book。

This was a solid attempt at an adaption, but the book was way too short。The illustrations were beautiful though。[I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。]

A perfectly reasonable adaptation of the original, I guess, but for me it was the source that let the side down。 The hoity-toity girl from the orphanage, the old farmer that picks her up late from the station thinking he's adopted a boy and then has far too little to do in the rest of the story, the very old-fashioned nature of the girl's behaviour and ambitions – no, this hasn't aged well。 There is remaining a half a moral about everyone deserving a second chance, but not all classics are timel A perfectly reasonable adaptation of the original, I guess, but for me it was the source that let the side down。 The hoity-toity girl from the orphanage, the old farmer that picks her up late from the station thinking he's adopted a boy and then has far too little to do in the rest of the story, the very old-fashioned nature of the girl's behaviour and ambitions – no, this hasn't aged well。 There is remaining a half a moral about everyone deserving a second chance, but not all classics are timeless ones。 。。。more
